SIMBO Consult is an engineering company with the express purpose of providing Structural, Geo technical and Foundation Engineering, Civil Engineering, Water Engineering and Environmental services. Our Directors and senior engineers bring a broad depth of diverse international experience to our clients’ projects. Our teams of Engineers and Environmentalists represent years of experience in Design and Management of structures for buildings, roads, water, bridges and have been involved in many award-winning projects globally. Trained in Israel, Kenya, Ethiopia and Japan, our Engineers employ a full range of techniques to communicate concepts and technical information from humble hand rendered sketch through to the latest intelligent CAD designs, MIDAS Civil, ETABS, BIM, 3D modelling and other design of software. Our team have developed software for concrete and structural design. Our Engineers also have extensive experience in Geo technical and foundation investigations. With a formidable team of our Engineers & Environmentalists, we strive to attain benchmark status as a company in the world of Civil Engineering.

Our core team consists of highly qualified professionals with excellent records of accomplishment and academic accreditation who are fully experienced in various aspects of construction industry. All of our team share the vision of engineering excellence, as well as the progress and success of our organization. The performance acclimatized work culture and accountable working approach of our company attracts top professionals, who strive to strengthen the Organization’s image as a regional leader in the construction industry. Our staff includes engineers (civil, structural, irrigation and water, mechanical, geotechnical), Architects and urban planners, environmental impact assessment experts, landscape architects, geologists, financial analysts, and surveyors.

Mellese Yimam

Senior Structural and Geo Technical Engineer

The founding member has extensive high profile project management experience in the east African & the middle east. Mellese has worked at several global infrastructure companies in Israel and Africa prior to joining SIMBO Consult as co- founder. Mellese has BSc in Civil Engineering from AAU and Master of Engineering in Foundation Engineering from Technion – Israel Institute of Technology and currently pursuing a Phd in structures from University of Nairobi. Mellese leads the strategic direction including closely engaging in the design and execution of projects and building partnership with domestic stakeholders along the value chain.

Wakjira Umeta

Senior Water Hydraulics Engineer

The key member has extensive high profile project management experience in African, Asia & the middle east. Wakjira has worked at several global water infrastructure companies in more than 10 companies. Wakjira has BSc in Civil Engineering from AAU and Master of Civil Engineering from University of Nairobi. Wakjira leads the strategic direction including closely engaging in the design and execution of projects.

Merkebu Morka Yimam

Chief Business Developer Manager

Merkebu has worked at World Bank and several multinational companies in Europe, Israel and Africa. Merkebu studied at New Castle School of Business, University of Newcastle upon Tyne (Newcastle, UK). Merkebu has BA and MBA in strategic management with more than 15 years of leadership experience. Merkebu will lead the strategic direction including long range planning and global partnership development.

James Kamau

Geotechnical and Pavement Engineer
The co-founding member has an extensive profile in Geotechnical and Pavement Materials and has worked on several private and government projects in Kenya. Mr. Kamau has a B.Eng. in Civil Engineering from Technical University of Kenya and currently pursuing MSC in Geotechnical engineering from Nairobi University. He leads the Geotechnical Engineering department together with Eng. Mellese including closely engaging in project management and execution of projects.

Fesseha Zena

Chief Architect

The key member has an extensive profile in Architectural and Civil Engineering has worked on several private and government projects in Ethiopia. Mr. Fesseha has a B.Sc. in Architecture and Civil Engineering from Adama Science & Technology University. Also a MSC in Architecture & Civil Engineering from Graduate school of Engineering, Shibaura Institute of Technology Japan. Masters in global BIM managment, from Zigurat institute of technology and barcelona university dual degree program. He leads the Archtectural department together with Eng. Mellese including closely engaging in project management and execution of projects.
